What is the 30×30 target and how does it protect our seas?

Report

Summary

It is the “home” to hundreds of thousands of species and contributes to mitigating the impacts of the climate crisis.

The 30×30 goal aims to protect 30% of the seas by 2030.

What does this mean in practice? It means more marine protected areas, effective enforcement of laws, marine surveillance, and collaboration between science and law to ensure protection based on the ecosystem approach. We have gathered everything you need to know and present it in a three-minute video.

We are joining forces with Greenpeace Greece to achieve the 30×30 goal and to safeguard and expand Marine Protected Areas in Greece!
