Greece announced 21 commitments for the protection of the marine environment at the 9th Our Ocean Conference (OOC9), which was organized and hosted in Athens in April 2024. The 21 commitments concern the following areas of action: Marine protected areas, sustainable fisheries, sustainable blue economy, marine pollution, climate change, marine security.
In the framework of the observatory we are monitoring and assessing the implementation progress of the eight commitments concerning marine protected areas.
