The importance of uninhabited islets for wildlife
The many small, uninhabited islets of the Greek seas are mistakenly considered barren and lifeless places. On the contrary, they are among the most valuable, albeit lesser-known, parts of Greek nature.
They could be likened to real “lifeboats” as unique animals and plants have managed to survive and evolve on them due to their long isolation and lack of competitors.
There are many ways to enjoy the islets without harming the wildlife that lives there.
